Creamy Herbal Salmon, Turmeric Rice & Green Beans

Creamy Herbal Salmon, Turmeric Rice & Green Beans: A 30-Minute Family Dinner

The Salmon Dinner the Whole Table Can Eat

Not every plate needs fire. This one is built for the nights when children, guests and spice-shy friends all sit at the same table: golden salmon under a creamy herb crust, sunshine-yellow turmeric rice, and green beans turned in butter with toasted pine nuts.

The crust is two ingredients. Full Feast Herbal Sauce — mild, herb-forward and completely chilli-free — stirred into crème fraîche and spread over the fillets. The oven does the rest. My sauces are created and made in England, inspired by Guadeloupean food culture, and this is the gentlest way I know to put that flavour on a weeknight table.

Recipe at a glance

  • Cuisine: French Caribbean
  • Prep: 5 minutes • Cook: 25 minutes • Total: about 30 minutes
  • Serves: 2–3
  • Featured sauce: Full Feast Fresh Herbal Sauce
  • Heat level: None — naturally mild and child-friendly
  • Diet: Pescatarian and gluten free as written

What you’ll need

For the salmon:

  • 2–3 skin-on salmon fillets (plain, unmarinated)
  • 2 tbsp Full Feast Herbal Sauce
  • 3 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the turmeric rice:

  • 250 g rice
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • Salt, to taste

For the green beans:

  • 300 g green beans, trimmed
  • 1 small onion, finely sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts
  • Generous knob of butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Prepare the salmon. Preheat the oven to 190°C (170°C fan / Gas 5). Mix the Full Feast Herbal Sauce with the crème fraîche and spread it evenly over the salmon fillets. Place on a lined baking tray and bake for 22–24 minutes, until the crust is golden and the fish is cooked through.
  2. Cook the turmeric rice. While the salmon bakes, cook the rice according to pack instructions with the turmeric and a pinch of salt stirred into the water. Fluff with a fork once cooked.
  3. Sauté the green beans. Melt the butter in a wide pan and soften the onion until translucent, about 4–5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Add the green beans and cook gently, stirring occasionally, for 10–12 minutes until fully tender. Stir in the pine nuts for the final 1–2 minutes so they toast in the buttery onion base. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve. Plate the turmeric rice and green beans alongside the salmon. Spoon any extra herbal crème fraîche sauce over the fish, and serve hot.

Chef’s notes

Naturally mild: this dish is suitable for children as written — the Herbal Sauce contains no chilli at all, just herbs, brightness and depth.

Swap the greens: broccoli works beautifully in place of the green beans — both love the pine nuts and the herbal-buttery base.

Restaurant finish: a little lemon zest and fresh parsley over the fish just before serving lifts the whole plate.

Allergen note: contains fish (salmon) and milk (crème fraîche, butter), plus pine nuts. Full Feast Herbal Sauce contains mustard and sulphites — check the full allergen list before serving guests with dietary restrictions.

Final word from me

Weeknight cooking should be generous without being complicated. Two spoons of sauce, one hot oven, and thirty minutes later the table smells like herbs and butter. That is the whole trick.
